It was that time of the year again – the season of giving, of love, of joy. As usual, we held our annual Christmas party at Ilasan Primary School and it was a blast.  In the words of Vince Gowmon,

“When we make play the foundation of learning, we teach the whole child.”

It was an absolute delight seeing how happy the children were during the Christmas party, watching them bask in their innocence. They danced and danced and danced. The prime moment was Santa Clause making his appearance as they let out an excited roar in unison. It was simply beautiful. It is these little moments that matter. They were gifted party packs, food and drinks. The teachers too were not left out. Each one of them received a Christmas hamper.

From the bottom of our hearts, we say a big thank you to everyone- volunteers, donors, who made this possible, this year. A big thank you to Dominos Pizza and Coca-Cola for partnering with us. There is no greater feeling than putting a smile on the face of a child.

For the new year, our upcoming events are:

• Education Convention (May 4, 2019) – This platform provides an opportunity for teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to gain fresh perspectives on pertinent educational issues from their interactions with Nigerian teachers and educational experts.
• Inspirational Educator Awards (May 4, 2019) –  This award is aimed at honoring teachers dedicated to imparting lifelong learning in their students. It recognizes, rewards and promotes excellence in teaching and advocacy for the profession.
• Free Teacher Professional Development Training (TPDT) for public & low cost private school teachers across states in Nigeria.
• Graduate Teacher Trainee Programme (GTTP) – A 3 month intensive teacher training & development programme, aimed at preparing young passionate educators/graduates for the classroom. The 2019 session will commence on Monday, 14th January 2019.
