The last three months have been epitomized by victories. We have been focused on achieving our goal, which is improving the quality of education for the underprivileged Nigerian Child by improving the quality of Nigerian Teachers.
Meadow Hall Foundation is passionate about raising the standards of Education in Nigeria, which we have done in the last quarter through the following initiatives:
1. Education Convention: The Fourth Edition of the Education Convention will hold on the 22nd of May, 2021, and the theme is Rethinking Education: Adapt, Adjust & Achieve. Unlike the previous editions, the Convention will be FREE for all and hosted virtually on Zoom & YouTube. The Education Convention will host the likes of the Commissioner of Lagos: Mrs. Folashade Adefisayo, Dr. Kehinde Nwani, Dr. Modupe Adefeso-Olateju, Mrs. Funke Fowler-Amba, Mr. Johnson Abbaly, Mrs. Nike Akerele-De Souza etc. To register for this event, please click the here.
2. Teacher Professional Development Program (TPDT): We hosted three webinars on our All About Teachers Facebook platform, which was created solely for the development of Teachers. The first Webinar held in January was titled Human Resource Management – Resolving Conflict between co-workers; led by Busayo Ogunsanya, Human Resource Officer at Meadow Hall Group. The next two webinars held in February were titled – Applying Innovation in Education and Leveraging Digital Teaching Resources in the classroom by Kelechi Uchenna, Co-Founder of Ningenius. In addition to these webinars, we also organized training videos in Child Learning, Tech in Education, Brand Management & Transforming your Life. Each topic had five episodes and the final episodes were posted last month on our social media accounts. The upcoming training videos will focus on: Mental Health, Physical Health, Grammar & Diction and Customer Service.
3. School Adoption Program: Teachers can only do so much in a classroom setting. Without a conducive learning environment, learning aids, instructional materials and educational toys, teaching is simply incomplete. Knowing this, we revamped the two nursery classrooms at Ilasan Nursery & Primary School, by redoing the floors, walls, ceiling, purchasing new tables, chairs, shelves, toys, learning aids etc. in collaboration with Little Drops Fund & the parents of Meadow Hall College.
We also decided to go the extra mile in creating the Anti-Covid Relief Project, which will provide each student at Ilasan Nursery & Primary school with a face mask and a bottle of sanitizer after we noticed a lack of mask protection during our visit.
